The second “meeting” of 2019 was in Fredersdorf-Vogelsdorf over the August Bank Holiday weekend and it started with a visit to a traditional glassworks, set in a restored village. We watched demonstrations, toured the museum and then spent the afternoon exploring the village (or in some cases its pub!). There was an “Auberge Espagnole” on Friday evening for those families who wanted it, a free exploration day on Saturday and the party in the evening. It was hot, which perhaps limited some people’s Saturday activities (ours at least) but I know all our “first timers” visited Berlin despite the heat.
On the Sunday morning in Fredersdorf, at our annual organisers’ meeting, Harriott Brand introduced a lino printing project which should eventually yield a book of prints of our three towns. This project is ongoing. A dance project was also introduced and dancers from Sleaford were invited to take part – but Covid has put this on hold.
